"It is never twice in the same garden"

... or Alsace in the autumn. In the summer I
have made friends with a wonderful garden trip to Alsace. Monika has described it very nicely in her blog:
garden tour in the summer - Alsace
set in "Country Living in the City"

Some of the places I really wanted to see again in the fall. And so we went on a foggy October day in the direction of France.
First, a hike through the autumn forest was on the program.

goal was the monastery on Mount St. Odile.
went on a rocky road it is always uphill to this sacred place. The crosses and many tablets called us told us that we were on a pilgrimage.

the huge monastery was shrouded in fog. That was very atmospheric, but the monastery we have seen little.

There were a yummy snack café in the convent. As we walk our

continued, we passed an ancient wall. It will be 10 kilometers long and probably originate from Celtic days. "Pagan wall" it is called. I can not think of the many poor "nations" that have set this wall with probably little technique ...
But nice is it, and I would have gladly taken a few feet of my garden.

Wikipedia can do much more of it

tell the way we met wooden highwaymen.

Was she this tree the "head" have twisted?

already quite late in the evening we went to our first garden after Diebolsheim to Mme Pierette

And because rents at Mme room, we have stationed there.

The next morning, breakfast ...
a Früüüüüüüüüüüstück!
crackled in the stove wide a fire. The fairies must have provoked it is early in the morning. We sit down at a lovely table setting. Through the window you could look schonmal in the autumnal garden. There are already many cavorting birds that have their breakfast revenue (top right).

Each morning began with a surprise: the table was covered different every day: new dishes, new ceiling, new napkins, new holders, new jams (homemade - from Grandpa or Pierrette)
And every morning there was a small fresh baked welcome. Mme
14 days can surprise their guests each morning with a new table decoration.

I bet they could even bake for 365 days every day a new variant of cake!
on the sofa, on the shelves, on the floor - were all ready beautiful books and magazines for guests. Almost wish you itself, it would rain sometimes, so you could be comfortable in the living room!

Then finally it went into the garden. The fall was all painted beautifully colorful. Grasses and asters had high season. Wonderfully atmospheric!

Mme P. is well known for their passion for collecting. Watering cans everywhere:

Would not it have been something fresh, I would have gladly made herself comfortable on a couch.

Much more about the rooms and the garden one finds in Mme Pierette Blog:
"Ambiance Jardin

On 2 Day was in the mountains. "Berchigranges" stand on the plan. Unfortunately we only found out in Geradmer that the garden had 2 days earlier this year closed its doors.

Instead, it went on the Route de Crête and were rewarded with a consolation season: the fog had cleared away. We stopped at a Ferme Auberge and ate a hearty choucroute plate. With full bellies we headed then directly to a small hike.

The 3rd Day was really full, and serve all the rest. Read, swim lazy. If it had not quite been as close to the garden of Madame Marguerite. Such a tiny little trip could not hurt.
We were lucky - the garden owners were there and allowed us many insights into their fantastic kingdom.

I had even visited the garden in the summer and I would have never forgiven me for not having seen him in the fall time - just because of the wonderful trees, whose full beauty can only be seen when they are full of fruit The leaves are painted in bright colors or if you recognize the bark on the already leafless trees.

The garden owners took over 2 hours for us - time that they have the high season not because of the large crowd of visitors. Actually

It should then go right back "homecoming", if it were not there my passion, and archways to post pictures (of which more in an upcoming blog posts). At some point, I thought, is one of the dog and bites me in the leg. Or a disgruntled landlord chases me cursing it. But it turned out quite differently. A prospective landlord asked me what I photograph there. So completely he understood my passion not, but he invited us into his private chambers. What we got to see there, our breath away:
a smorgasbord of old kitchen appliances, hand tools, clothes, dishes, furniture and more ... All finely polished, no speck of dust on any object, all sorted fine by age, an almost complete collection on 2 floors

Fascinated, I stood before the Fahhradklingel or a clothes peg collection

baby shoes, and a combination of wood and leather shoes.

was I especially the old cheese bells - still partially blown.

I could show quite a lot of pictures, but it's down, because finally, Strasbourg was still around the corner. Since I wanted to even out.
Little France had to be it, because there it has provided me Summer very much. Back then you could still sit outside, but inside the 'La Corde à Linge' it was very comfortable.

with the bath it was nothing more that day - maybe next time.
Our short vacation was almost over. Just one more sleep and even a delicious, full breakfast

... and then it went back toward home. There
